THE SUPERINTENDENT OF SANTA CRUZ CITY SCHOOLS IS BEING CRITICIZED BY TEACHERS, SCHOOL EMPLOYEES, PARENTS AND STUDENTS. SUPERINTENDENT GARY BLOOM HAS THE TEACHERS UNION UPSET OVER THE 1 PERCENT RAISE, BLOOM OFFERED. OTHER SCHOOL WORKERS ANNOUNCED A VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE IN BLOOM, THAT AFTER HE PROPOSED A 4 OR 5 PERCENT RAISE, ONLY IF THE DISTRICT STOPPED CONTRIBUTING TO THE EMPLOYEE HEALTH CARE FUND. THE SUPERINTENDENT IS ALSO BEING CRITICIZED, BY PARENTS AND STUDENTS, FOR CHOOSING NOT TO RE-NEW A POPULAR COACH’S CONTRACT. TALKS, BETWEEN THE TEACHERS UNION AND THE DISTRICT ARE SET TO CONTINUE SEPTEMBER 27TH.
