SANTA CRUZ COUNTY HEALTH OFFICIALS ISSUED A RABIES HEALTH WARNING AFTER A DEAD BAT TESTED POSITIVE FOR RABIES YESTERDAY (THURSDAY). THE BAT WAS TURNED OVER TO THE S-P-C-A- ON WEDNESDAY AFTER IT WAS FOUND BY A CHILD. THE BAT TESTED POSITIVE AT THE PUBLIC HEALTH LABORATORY, AND OFFICIALS ISSUED THE WARNING. THE PUBLIC IS ALSO REMINDED TO KEEP YOUR PETS RABIES VACCINATIONS CURRENT, AND TO EDUCATE CHILDREN TO STAY AWAY FROM DEAD, SICK OR STRANGE ACTING ANIMALS AND TO REPORT THEM TO THE S-P-C-A.
