officials at the santa cruz animal shelter are investigating the methamphetamine overdose of a puppy. last week, shelter officers received a call from a veterinary hospital, about a puppy exhibiting signs of a probable meth overdose. the puppy’s symptoms along with the elusive behavior of the owner prompted the vet to alert authorities. animal shelter officers along with park rangers then searched area transient encampents looking for the owner, and litter mates of the puppy, without sucess. the puppy is recovering at the shelter and will be adopted out, meanwhile any one with any information about this incident is encouraged to contact the santa cruz animal shelter.
