An eye opening report about the sheer number of used needles found by the group “take back Santa Cruz’s needles solutions team.”
During the six year period between 2012 and 2019, the group claims to have picked up nearly 37-thousand used needles. At Pogonip park over 700 needles were recovered in just one day.
The report comes after the Santa Cruz city council last week unanimously approved the installation of four new syringe disposal kiosks within city limits.
