A 34 year old Santa Cruz woman was killed in a solo vehicle crash on Felton Empire Grade late Saturday. Authorities say that shortly before midnight a 35 year old Santa Cruz man lost control of his pick up truck west of Fetherston Way and went down an embankment before colliding with a tree. The female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was hospitalized with major injuries. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to a factor in the crash.
