Santa Cruz fire fighters battled a motel fire early Saturday morning. Shortly before 4:15 a-m, two fire crews responded to the 600 block of Riverside Drive, where flames had engulfed a second story unit. The fire fighters safely evacuated 45 guests and fully extinguished the blaze in about 15 minutes. There were no reported injuries, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
