A Santa Cruz man, who is accused of setting fire to an acquaintences’ home, is scheduled to be in court this morning. Ryan Lee Brand is set to appear before Santa Cruz County Superior Court Judge Paul Burdick in connection with the Saturday fire near the intersection of 25th Avenue and East Cliff Drive. Although everyone was able to get out of the home safely, when firefighters arrived ‘on scene’ the house was considered to be ‘pretty much fully engulfed’.
