By a vote of 4 to 2, the Santa Cruz City council approved a plan for a new downtown library.
It’s a mixed use plan that includes affordable housing and a parking garage at a new location near Cedar and Lincoln streets.
Funds to build the new library come from measure s which was approved in 2016.
