More than 900 Santa Cruz County homes were destroyed during the CZU Fires last fall. Many former residents remain out of their homes today.
Santa Cruz County Spokesperson Jason Hoppin says construction crews continue in their efforts to rebuild in many mountainous burn areas, including Boulder Creek and Davenport. But the workers say a lack of water and power is causing delays in the rebuilding process for many displaced residents.
Some construction crews say they are overwhelmed by the demand for their work in the burned areas.
