Firefighters in santa cruz were able to control an early-morning house fire yesterday(sun), before the flames spread. Residents at the house on the 3-hundred block of Frederick street had already begun to fight the flames by the time firefighters arrived (at 12:44 a.m). a wall (adjacent to a fire-place) had caught fire, and crews were able to prevent the flames from spreading. About 25-thousand-dollars worth of damage was sustained, however nobody was injured, and residents were allowed to remain in the house. The cause is under investigation.
