The CHP is reporting that traffic fatalities are higher than average in Santa Cruz County so far this year. The agency announced that there have been 11 fatal accidents to date up from 9 at the same time last year. Statistics indicate most of the fatalities are solo vehicle accidents that usually involve drugs or alcohol, as well as speeding.
