The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office recovered a bicycle almost three years after it was stolen. The Sheriff’s Office got the bike when a deputy tried to stop a person he knew had warrants. The suspect was riding a bike at the time, but dropped it and fled on foot. The suspect had previously been arrested for theft and possession of stolen property, so the deputy checked the serial number. It came back clear, but the deputy also called several bike shops in the county and eventually found the owner, Runquan Guan. Guan had reported the bike stolen to a different agency after the 2017 theft in Santa Cruz. The bike is now back with Guan.
