The first case of Corona virus in Santa Cruz county was confirmed on Saturday. The county health department has confirmed that a county resident who traveled on the Grand Princess Cruise Ship from San Francisco to Mexico in mid-February has tested positive for the virus. The health department is investigating possible exposure to the public. Santa Cruz county declared a local health emergency on March 4th.
