All beaches across Santa Cruz County will be closed for Labor Day weekend starting at 5 a.m. Saturday and ending at 5 p.m. on Monday.
Earlier today, the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors announced the closures to give plenty of heads up for residents and visitors ahead of the holiday weekend. Additional closures are expected to be announced.
Water activities will still be allowed during the closure. From 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday the beach will be open to the public. The county is calling it a “sunset provision”.
