SC Attorney Killer Sentenced in Maui 10-18-13 09:00 av

A Santa Cruz man was sentenced to spend 40-years behind bars yesterday after killing his girlfriend during a vacation in Maui.   Gerald Galaway Jr. was sentenced to 20-years for manslaughter and 20-years for kidnapping.   Maui District Attorney John Kim says Galaway killed 35-year old Celestial Dove Cassman after the couple got into a heated argument on a Maui Highway on September 1st 2011.   A coroner’s autopsy concluded that Cassman died from asphyxiation.
