The Santa Cruz Animal Shelter’s Winter Kids’ Camp will be held from December 30th – January 3rd (excluding the January 1st holiday). The camp will be held from 9 am – 3 pm at the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter.
Campers will meet guest speakers from animal welfare professions and get to know a wide variety of animals. There are behind the scenes shelter tours and animal-themed arts and crafts projects, including art that helps showcase pets waiting to be adopted.
Children will learn about being responsible stewards, both for animals and the world around them. As a humane education project, the camp fosters understanding, respect, and empathy toward all living beings.
The Camp fee is $250-per-child. There is some scholarship money available and it is also possible for community members to sponsor a needy child to attend camp.
