The superintendent of the San Benito High School District has resigned from his job. John Perales resigned Friday, the same day he appeared in court and pleaded “not guilty’ to brandishing a firearm in Gilroy last month. Perales confronted the driver of an unfamiliar vehicle in his neighborhood, after there had been a rash of property thefts there. The school district has appointed Shawn Tennenbaum to serve as the district’s interim superintendent until a new superintendent is chosen.
