John Ellis is President of the National Association of Scholars, California division and former professor of German Literature at UCSC. John’s experience with the NAS included the release of the report “A Crisis of Competence: The Corrupting Effect of Political Activism in the University of California”. The report details an increase in the number of politically motivated professors in the UC system and the effect it has had civil discourse.
