A Santa Cruz woman has been arrested following a high speed chase in Scotts Valley yesterday. Officials say the incident occurred when officers attempted to pull the 23-year-old over for a traffic violation shortly after 6:30 p.m. The woman then began to lead CHP on a high speed chase, exiting onto Mt. Hermon Road, and running two red lights. The suspect was eventually slowed down after she ran over a spike strip set up by deputies. She crashed into a patrol car during the chase. The woman was arrested for alleged DUI, evading an officer, and assault with a deadly weapon. She was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail.
