EARLY SATURDAY MORNING SANTA CRUZ FIRE WAS DISPATCHED TO THE WHARF TO INVESTIGATE THE REPORT OF A BOAT BUMPING AGAINST THE WEST SIDE OF THE STRUCTURE. A 30-FOOT FISHING BOAT CAME IN CONTACT WITH THE WHARF, CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE. HOWEVER, BY THE TIME UNITS ARRIVED, THE BOAT HAD BEEN DRIVEN AWAY FROM THE WHARF BY THE TWO OCCUPANTS ON BOARD. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AS A RESULT OF THE COLLISION AND THERE WAS NO VESSEL DAMAGE. THE WHARF SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO A 20-FOOT SECTION OF RAILING, AND IT REMAINS UNCLEAR AS TO HOW THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED.
