A proposal to ban outdoor medical marijuana grows throughout parts of Santa Cruz County is expected to go before a vote today. County Board of Supervisor Chairman Zach Friend is proposing the initiative, which would ban outdoor grows in Aptos, Corralitos and a part of Capitola, but it would set a limit on the amount of acres grown in mountainous regions in the county, and would also allow for indoor grows. If approved, the exception would apply to the county’s Second district.
