Santa Cruz police say they have begun towing vehicles with expired license plates as well as those with multiple unpaid parking tickets. Tags that expired more than 6 months ago and vehicles with more than five unpaid parking tickets will be impounded and towed.
The violations must be fixed before vehicles can be released. With the towing fee, plus bringing the vehicle into compliance, the cost of getting your vehicle returned can add up quickly.
