Santa Cruz has been named as one of five Silicon Valley cities to watch for in 2014. According to the Silicon Valley Business Journal, local start-ups such as Next-space and Looker are helping to put Santa Cruz on the Bay Area tech map. Next-space co-founder Jeremy Neuner says the recognition comes after the city received a lot of press coverage over the past year. Silicon Valley CEOs were asked to consider moving to the coast when they were presented with a surfing challenge last year by then city mayor Hilary Bryant during a 3-day tech event held by downtown based start-up, Civinomics.
