Santa Cruz Middle and High Schools to Partially Reopen 4/5 03-10-21 02:01 DC

With Santa Cruz County now in the less restrictive red tier, middle and high school students will return to in-person learning on April 5.

However, before they return to campus, the sixth through 12th-grade students will go through orientation. During orientation, students must familiarize themselves with COVID-19 safety protocols.

Under the plan, school officials say students will come to campus two days a week and be in the classroom. They will then use Zoom to telecommute into class two days a week. All students will Zoom in to class on Mondays.

Once the schools open up, they will be able to keep students in the classroom, even if Santa Cruz County moves back into the purple tier.
