WITH A 2 MILLION DOLLAR INCREASE IN HOTEL TAX REVENUE AND A 1 POINT 1 MILLION DOLLAR JUMP IN SALES TAX REVENUE, THE CITY OF SANTA CRUZ HAS A STRONGER FINANCIAL OUTLOOK THAN A YEAR AGO. THE 5 POINT 8 MILLION DOLLAR TOTAL REVENUE GROWTH HAS PROMPTED CITY OFFICIALS TO RECOMMEND REPAIRS INCLUDING FIXING DEPOT PARK SOCCER FIELD, INSTALLING LED LIGHTS ON BRIDGES OVER SAN LORENZO RIVER, AND CORRECTING FACILITY ISSUES AT CITY HALL AND THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. THESE RECOMMENDATIONS WILL ADD UP TO APPROXIMATELY 2 POINT 6 MILLION DOLLARS. THE SANTA CRUZ CITY COUNCIL WILL REVIEW THE FULL MID-YEAR FINANCIAL REPORT AND RELATED BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS AT 2:30 P-M TODAY (TUES).
