A warning has been issued for some Santa Cruz County beaches due to contaminated water from recent storm run-off. County health officials sent out the warning yesterday alerting people to not surf, swim or dive near the areas where storm drains and rivers flow into the ocean. The following areas have bacteria levels that exceed safe body contact standards:
– San Lorenzo River Mouth
– Soquel Creek at Capitola Beach
– Neary Lagoon at Cowell Beach
– Schwan Lake atTwin Lakes Beach
– Aptos Creek at Rio Del Mar Beach
– Porter Gulch at New Brighton Beach
