Fire fighters battled a blaze in south Monterey County on Sunday. Cal fire fighters responded to a grass fire in an open field near the intersection of Monterey Street and Julius Street. The Julius Fire grew to 22 acres before it was contained and then extinguished. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
