In Hollister… officials are bracing for a potentially stinky situation at the San Benito foods tomato processing plant.
Yesterday around 4:30, part of the roof collapsed… forcing the plant to close. Nobody was injured but much of the tomato product remains and when it gets to be a few days old… unpleasant odors may result.
Hollister city officials are working with officials at San Benito Foods to mitigate the situation. Meanwhile the cause of the roof collapse is under investigation.
