Authorities have announced San Benito County is experiencing a shortage of law enforcement officers. Only two deputies are patrolling seven different towns at any one time.  The Sheriff’s Office has 12 deputies, down from 24 in 2009. The shortage has raised concerns for public safety. County supervisors plan to discuss funding for law enforcement next month.
