On Saturday, Santa County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to investigate a report of a man using a bat to break down the door of a residence in the area of San Andreas Road near Watsonville. The suspect, 36 year old Christopher Lupina, a former boyfriend of the victim, was unable to gain access to the residence and began to smash out nearby car windows with the bat. Lupina then fled the area in a vehicle and was spotted by a responding Deputy who pulled him over. Lupina was arrested for charges that included attempted burglary, criminal threats, and vandalism.
