(16:58) SANTA CRUZ- Rough seas are one of the reasons for lower than expected reports of caught salmon. Despite years of drought salmon returns had been expected to be up from last year’s recreational fishing season. This year’s recreational salmon season goes until April 30th. Later in the month, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife along with the California Fish and Game Commission and the Pacific Fishery Management Council will rule on the possibility the season will be extended. Recreational fisherman, south of Pigeon Point can catch a daily limit of two salmon at least 24 inches long.
