With restaurants mostly closed, freshly caught local king salmon are available at Santa Cruz Harbor. What consumers don’t buy will make their way to local stores.
Fisherman say consumers are taking up some of the slack caused by non-existent restaurant sales and are buying fresh salmon right off the boats.
The salmon season runs through August.
