2 teens were booked into Monterey County Jail yesterday afternoon after leading officers on a car chase that ended in a crash near Chualar. Officers attempted to pull over a 4-door Mazda, with 4 suspected gang members inside on East Laurel Drive in Salinas at 3:30, when the vehicle continued traveling into the city of Chualar. The tires of the vehicle blew out before striking an S-U-V. Police arrested the 15-year old driver of the vehicle for resisting arrest and a17-year old passenger for resisting arrest and violating probation. The other 2 passengers, a 12 and 16 year old, were released to their parents.
