A World War 2 veteran was honored in Salinas on Saturday. 94 year old Private First Class Julio Sorio was presented with a Congressional Gold Medal by Congressman Jimmy Panetta for his actions while serving alongside 260 thousand other Filipino-Americans. The Congressional Gold Medal is U.S. Congress’ highest civilian honor.
