salinas police arrested a suspected gang member following a routine traffic stop. police stopped 27 year old, brian matthew alderete on the 300 block of boronda road. when a strong odor of MARIJUANA was noticed coming from alderete’s car, a search of the vehicle was performed. a loaded revolver and a bag of marijuana were uncovered. alderete was booked into monterey county jail on weapons and drug charges, as well as driving on a suspended license.
