THE SALINAS AIRPORT’S CONTROL TOWER, ALONG THE 148 OTHER TOWERS SLATED FOR CLOSURE ON APRIL 7TH , WILL REMAIN OPEN TEMPORARILY. THE TOWER CLOSURES WILL ARE NOW SET TO BEGIN JUNE 15TH. REPRESENTATIVE SAM FARR STATED THAT HIS OFFICE WILL USE THE DELAY, TO CONTINUE LOBBYING FOR THE TOWER, CITING PILOT SAFETY CONCERNS ALONG WITH AGRICULTURAL NEEDS.
