The CHP put the breaks on Friday night street racing in Salinas.
The CHP says about 100 people and 40 cars were involved in the street race on Iverson street in Salinas… officers impounded four cars and handed out seven tickets…. They also issued warnings, but there were no arrests.
The Salinas City Council is apparently working on an ordinance that will make it illegal to involved in street racing.
