A new fundraising campaign is expected to help fund a new football and soccer facility at the site of the Salinas Municipal Stadium. The new sunken facility is expected to include a bowl-shaped design, seating for 5,000 people and an NCAA regulation size soccer field, with artificial turf for soccer and football. The plans have already been approved by the city and fundraising is set to begin in the spring. The new facility will become the home for the Palma and North Salinas High school’s football teams, the facility will also be available for the city Parks and Rec. Department, and the Boys and Girls Club.
