Authorities in salinas are investigating a string of shootings that occurred this weekend. On Friday, a 17-year-old boy was shot in a parking lot on del monte avenue. The victim was able to get himself to a local hospital. He suffered a gunshot wound to his left thigh. The shooter in that case fled in a tan mitsubishi gallant. In a separate shooting on Saturday, 2 juveniles were shot on the 1-thousand block of sieber avenue. A 15-year-old boy was shot in the leg. a 17-year-old boy was shot in the head and was hospitalized in serious condition. Both incidents are being investigated as gang-related.
