Salinas Police responded to a shooting in front of a Bank of America at the 800 Northridge Shopping Center at 6 pm last night. Officers arrived to find a 54-year-old victim who had been shot in the leg. An investigation revealed that while the victim was headed to the bank with the day’s earnings from his business, he was approached by a man wearing a red bandana over his face and wielding a handgun. When the thief pointed the handgun at him, the victim attempted to grab it away from him, and was shot in the leg during the process. The robber grabbed the deposit bag and was seen running across North Main Street. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
