SALINAS SCHOOLS ARE GOING TO BE OFFERING MORE NUTRITIOUS FOOD. 11 SCHOOLS IN THE ALISAL AND SALINAS CITY SCHOOL DISTRICTS ARE BENEFITING FROM AN 11.4 MILLION DOLLAR FEDERAL GRANT. MONIES FROM THE GRANT WILL BE USED TO PROVIDE CHILDREN WITH HEALTHY SNACKS, SUCH AS FRUITS AND VEGETABLES. THE GRANT IS PART OF THE NATIONAL LUNCH ACT.
