A man was arrested on several charges Friday afternoon at home depot in Salinas. A man waiting for a friend in the parking lot of home depot, was on the phone with that friend, when he was approached by a robber with armed with a pistol. The robber threatened the victim’s life and demanded cash. The victim’s friend on the other end of the phone call was pulling into the parking lot and saw the altercation as well as heard it over the phone, he alerted the authorities as he witnessed his friend being ordered into the robbers truck. He pulled close to the robbers truck, but drove off to a safe distance to avoid the armed man’s advances. At this time police arrived on the scene and the robber fled on foot into home depot. Police located the suspect, and arrested 26 year old alejandro Gonzales. He was booked into Monterey county jail for robbery, kidnapping, attempted robbery charges.
