Salinas has the cleanest air in the state and the sixth cleanest in the nation, according to a report released this week. The report is based on air pollution data collected by the EPA. The American Lung Association’s annual Air Quality Report gave Salinas an “A” in air quality. Santa Cruz got an “F” in air quality, but an “A” in the of absence of ozone pollution. San Joaquin County cities had some of the worst air quality. The report shows a decrease in ozone and particle pollution from the past few years.
