The Salinas Police Department has been asked to stop investigating the case of a Monterey County priest who’s been accused of sexual abuse. A letter addressed to the Salinas Police Department from attorneys representing Father Edward Fitz-Henry, says the department should immediately cease it’s involvement in the case since Fitz-Henry was an alleged former volunteer chaplain with the police agency.Attorneys want the case turned over to the Monterey County District Attorney’s office.Fitz-Henry was accused with molesting the victim in 2004 and 2005 while he stationed at Madonna del Sasso Church in Salinas.
