Police in Salinas police have arrested a local man in a 2017 murder investigation. They add 28-year-old Andrew Alvarado will soon be charged with two shootings that took place on Elkington Avenue this past weekend.
Alvarado was arrested at a Las Cruces Court home Tuesday afternoon.
He is accused of killing 49-year-old Martin Rocha and sending a 29-year-old man to the hospital back in September 2017.
Police also say video evidence shows Alvarado is also responsible for a shooting on Elkington Avenue in Salinas on July 13 where a 28-year-old and 19-year-old are, according to police, “extremely lucky” and listed in stable condition.
Alvarado was taken to the Monterey County Jail and booked for the 2017 murder and attempted murder.
Sali9nas police said charges related to the Elkington shooting and gun possession will soon be filed.
