The parents of 1-year old child were arrested this morning in Salinas on child endangerment charges. Officers responded to a hotel on the 500 block of Work Street after a complaint was made about someone banging on a door of a room and a baby crying. Officers arrived to find the little girl left alone in a room surrounded by unsafe items such as knives, razors and medication. The child’s parents, 26-year old Israel Tate and 22-year old Maria DeSantiago were arrested upon their arrival an hour later, while the baby was turned over to child protective services.
