The Salinas City Council voted to purchase a motel in order to house the homeless. The council unanimously voted to purchase the Good Nite Inn on Work Street. The 12 million dollar project would be funded by the state’s HOMEKEY program. If the project is awarded Homekey funding, the city would have to close escrow by December 30.
