A 41 year-old Salinas man has been sentenced to spend 9 years behind bars. In July of 2016, Horacio Alcantar was the driver of an S-U-V that hit another vehicle head-on in Salinas. Alcantar fled on foot from the scene, but was found a short time later at his home…with a blood alcohol content that was twice the legal limit. Alcantar’s victim suffered life threatening injuries and brain trauma, and although he lived, he is paralyzed from the neck down, and cannot speak.
