a salinas man was arrested for battery and felony child abuse. according to police sources the incident occurred sunday afternoon when a jogger, 23 year old diego edeza spit on a 19 year old man on north main street provoking a confrontation. as the incident progressed edeza kicked the man’s 5 year old brother in stomach causing him to fall into the traffic lane. the boy was able to avoid being struck by traffic. edeza was booked into monterey county jail
