An electrical fire forced the evacuation of part of Salinas’ Northridge Mall on Saturday. Flames were reported just before 5 p.m., coming from a circuit-box near the J.C. Penny’s in the Northwest section of the Mall. No injuries were reported, and the flames were extinguished in about 10-minutes. No merchandise was damaged, although there was damage to the circuit box. Customers were allowed back in after about 2-and-a-half-hours.
